Job Title: Medication Compliance Officer

Location: Brentford

Salary: £12,428 per annum (£11.95 per hour)

Job Type: Permanent, Part-time (20 hours per week)

Job Summary

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that Healthvision’s medication management policies and procedures are followed by all staff.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare Medication Administration Records (MAR/ eMAR) charts for each service user in partnership with the GP, Council, Service User
  • Ensure that MAR/ eMAR charts are updated as necessary
  • Maintain an accurate spreadsheet of medication errors
  • Monitor the completion of MAR/ eMAR charts by care staff
  • Cross reference daily care notes and MAR/ eMAR charts to check for accuracy and completeness
  • Respond to GP requests for updated MAR/ eMAR charts
  • Manage the distribution and retrieval of MAR charts from the homes of service users
  • Deal with medication issues and queries
  • Alert management to high risk medication administration
  • Maintain list of clients with controlled drugs
  • Archive old MAR charts

Reporting Mechanism

The Medication Compliance Officer will report to the Registered Manager. There is the expectation that the Medication Compliance Officer will immediately report serious medication issues to the Registered Manager and the Managing Director.

  • Care Supervisors
  • Care Coordinators
  • Care staff
  • External partners such as GPs, Social Services, Service User next of kin

  • Be fully aware of all of Healthvision’s medication policies and procedures
  • Works well as part of the team, represents and promotes Healthvision in a positive manner, takes pride in work and appearance, does the right thing, follows and inspires others to follow company policies and procedures
  • Is decisive and takes direct action within the bounds of their delegated authority
  • Is consistently punctual in their work attendance, if allocated a task, it will be completed fully
