Job Title: Medical Records Analyst
Salary: £20 per hour
Location: Northenden, Manchester – with the option for home working
Job Type: Permanent, Part Time (min. 25 hours per week with Full Time considered)
Ontime Reports Ltd is a specialist medico-legal agency, which provides various out-sourcing services to personal injury lawyers and their clients.
Due to continued expansion we are currently seeking a Medical Records Analyst, to provide support to our clinical negligence and personal injury client solicitors.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced qualified nurse to work within our friendly team at our office in Northenden with some flexibility for work from home days.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct a clinical review of a variety of medical records
- Analysing medical records to provide a written summarised reporting detailing the pertinent facts and key details
- Preparing chronologies/timelines and identifying missing documents
- Complete assignments in a timely manner that meets or exceeds set targets/deadlines
- Maintain a chain of custody of all documents and follow all confidentiality and security guidelines
About You:
Required Qualifications/Training
- Good IT skills – conversant with Microsoft Word and Outlook
Required Attributes
- RGN with a minimum of 15 years post-qualified experience and with a background in a variety of clinical areas; more particularly surgical, orthopaedics and maternity, ICU would be very useful
- A high level of familiarity with medical terminology, record taking and procedures
- A methodical, organised approach
- Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Excellent command of English
- Analytical and critical mind
- Ability to converse with the instructing solicitors and discuss case specifics
Desired Attributes
- Experience of working in a medical legal environment, dealing with the chronologies of medical records
- Knowledge of the Proclaim case management system
- Experience of handling NHS complaints
If Choosing to Work Remotely
This role requires a mixture of working with photocopied paper records, and PDF copies of records. Consequently the successful applicant wishing to work from home for 2/3 out of 5 days per week will be required to have:
- Suitably sized desk or dining table in a well-lit location in your home
- A suitable chair
- A PC or laptop less than 4 years old that can accommodate a twin monitor set-up
- A stable and unlimited broadband internet connection
- Lockable filing cabinet for confidential details
- All stationary will be provided, also the second screen, headset & webcam
Please note no requirement to work from home, office based full time is no issue
In return the Company offers:
- The starting salary is £20 per hour (based on min 25 hours per week, we can accept full time)
- Our standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:30am Monday-Thursday and 8:30am to 5pm Friday.
- 23 days holiday, rising 1 day per year to a max of 26 days, plus bank/public hols. Please note, the office is closed between Christmas and New Year and 3 holidays are reserved for this period
- 3 holiday buy backs per year after 1 year of service
