Job Title: Media and Online Learning Developer

Salary: £36,386 – £42,155 per year.
Job type: Full Time – Permanent. 35 hours a week, hybrid working. Relocation assistance may be available for this post, subject to conditions.

The Role:
As Media and Online Learning Developer, you will play a key part in enacting this commitment – working alongside academic colleagues and DELTA to implement institutional standards and advancing the quality and distinctiveness of the school’s course portfolio.
The purpose of this role is to support high quality media and technology enhanced learning in the school across a variety of platforms. The post holder will support both academic and administrative staff in the production and delivery of course learning materials which advance RGU’s reputation for quality in learning and teaching.
Candidate Requirements:
You will have experience supporting learning and assessment design either online or classroom-based as well as experience of developing content within a Virtual Learning Environment.
Duties Include:
- Carries out designated instruction through a variety of tutorials, workshops and virtual platforms.
- Provides expert support with media and technology enhanced learning to both staff and students.
- Leads the development, preparation and assessment of media based and e-learning materials (including online and video assessments).
- Develops and maintains expertise in field of media and technology enhanced learning.
- Contributes to subject, course and module development from a media and technology enhancement perspective.
- Contributes to curriculum development and the introduction of new teaching and learning methods related to media and technology enhanced learning. Participates in marketing and School events.
- Maintains good working relationships with other schools and departments, in particular DELTA, to support the development of media and technology enhanced learning across the university.
- Evaluates approaches, taking account of student and staff feedback. Actively participates in staff development activities.
- Establish and maintain relevant industry links, as necessary, in order to establish the duties of the role.
Person Specification:
Essential Requirements –
Experience –
- Experience of supporting learning and assessment design for either wholly online, blended learning or classroom-based delivery.
- Experience of developing content within a Virtual Learning Environment and of using industry standard media hardware/software and rapid content authoring tools.
Desirable Requirements –
Qualifications & Professional Requirements –
- Relevant degree in a digital or media-based discipline.
Knowledge –
- Knowledge of media production hardware and software industry developments.

Salary on first appointment is normally to the bottom of the scale, although in exceptional circumstances an appointment further up the scale may be considered.
