Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
Location: Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £22,000 – £25,500
Job Type: 37 hours per week – 8.00am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs (30 mins lunch), 8.00am to 1.00pm Fri (no lunchbreak)

The role:
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our busy and highly motivated multi-disciplinary team.
The work is varied, interesting and demanding as we expect high standards for quality and performance. With good practical knowledge, you will join our mechanical assembly department in order to build products within set timeframes whilst ensuring that quality standards are met on all products, processes, and procedures. Our products are designed to support the teaching of engineering principles, and all the finished work is visible to the end customers, therefore it is imperative that you have great attention to detail and work to a neat standard.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Building products to the required standard (in accordance with ISO9001 quality standards)
- Assembling products that prove engineering theories
- Working from mechanical drawings/diagrams
- Work from a BOM (Bills of Materials)
- Gluing, soldering, fitting of bearings, using hand tools
- Self-inspection of all work produced
- Maintain accurate bookings within a computerised system
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Essential Experience from Candidate:
- Relevant experience and a strong mechanical background
- Able to work accurately to deadlines
- An understanding of mechanical drawings/diagrams
- An enthusiastic team player with a can-do/flexible attitude
- Work alongside/with electrical fitters
- Continual process improvement attitude
Desirable Experience from Candidate:
- Relevant qualification
- Experience with HVAC/air conditioning systems
- A willingness to help out in other areas of the factory should the demand arise
- Experience of building educational equipment/products
