We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled professional to take charge of all aspects of asset maintenance operations pertaining to high-precision, high-frequency spindles used within the production facility, to include, but not limited to, manufacturers such as Bryant, GMN, Grieshaber, IBAG, Spintec and Vournard.
As a Specialist in Spindle Diagnostics, Maintenance & Repair, you will:
- Swiftly Diagnose and Rectify Issues: Utilise your mechanical expertise to identify and resolve problems with mechanical drive rolls, shafts, and bearings, all while adhering to tight tolerances and deadlines. This often involves working within a controlled cleanroom environment.
- Master Assembly Drawings: Develop a deep understanding of assembly drawings and techniques to facilitate the disassembly, fault diagnosis, repair, and rebuilding of Schneeberger slides and rotational/oscillating arms used in high-speed production machinery.
- Lubrication Expertise: Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on pressurised oil/air mist lubrication systems integrated into our machine tools.
- Balancing Precision: Utilise mechanical balancing devices and machines (such as Schenck) to ensure that our spindles meet the highest standards of precision, crucial for our production facility.
- Spare Parts Management: Manage the stock and spares of critical measuring devices used for in-process gauging and for the mechanical equipment under your care.
- Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records to enable prompt repair and tool exchange, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent production.
- Commitment to Learning: Be ready to undergo training, potentially at other facilities, to enhance your skills and keep up with industry advancements.
- Bearing Expertise: Acquire the knowledge to fit the appropriate bearings and components for each spindle, achieving the desired runout, noise levels, and preload.
- Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with third-party suppliers to source the most suitable methods for the maintenance and repair of critical equipment outside our core competence, ensuring seamless business operations.
