Instrument Technology Ltd (ITL) was established in the 1960’s, specialising in the manufacture of special electro-optical tubes for university and science research applications
During the 80’s and 90’s ITL expanded rapidly with the introduction of a full range of specialist components utilised in an ever growing global vacuum research market
Since then ITL has been serving the world’s leading vacuum equipment suppliers, who in turn are supporting a booming semiconductor industry

Scope
As an experienced Manufacturing Manager you will be expected to manage and drive your team to ensure manufacturing activities are run efficiently and effectively. You will also be expected to deliver the required outputs against performance targets. These will include OTD, Quality, LEAN practices, staff development and Health & Safety
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the company manufacturing output plan
- Manage capacity planning to facilitate staff scheduling (overtime/shift patterns) and material requirements to achieve manufacturing target
- Performance reporting – on productivity, OTD, continual improvement and quality
- Management and development of your overall team
- Analysis and implementation of lean production improvements, efficiencies and best working practices to drive OTD, shortened lead times, and improved Quality
- Responsible for plant improvements and future CAPEX requirements
- Liaising with Quality to implement any highlighted improvement requirements
- Working with maintenance on machine breakdowns, preventative maintenance and improvements.
- Monitor entire team to ensure operations are in compliance with H&S standards
- Good understanding of key accounts
- Stock planning for future requirements
The Person
- Qualified in engineering, manufacturing or equivalent time-served experience
- Successful track record (5+ years) of delivering on aggressive monthly output targets
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate others to meet deadlines
- Lean manufacturing/Lean six sigma experience advantageous
- Engineering, operations and process implementation experience
- Planning and organisation skills to be able run and monitor the production process
- Good knowledge and experience of ERP/MRP systems
- Attention to detail to drive a “right first time” mentality and high levels of quality
- The ability to work in a logical, systematic manner
