Job Title: Management Accountant
Location: Salford/Hybrid
Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 per annum (Experience Dependent)
Job Type: Permanent, full time (37.5 hours a week, Mon-Fri)

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our award winning Finance team, to assist with the financial accounting, management reporting and all other related financial matters at The Lowry. You will be required to lead with the production of monthly management accounts and liaise with managers to ensure correct accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the assistant accountants, ensuring consistency and best practice is developed and maintained. Provide coaching and ensure team deadlines are achieved.
- Lead with the production of Group monthly management accounts and provide variance analysis and commentary as required.
- Maintaining financial records and preparing management information for a variety of business areas.
- Liaise with departmental managers to ensure correct accounting and reporting of all financial activities. Assist managers with queries and budget variances.
- Prepare monthly balance sheets and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage the correspondence between The Lowry’s payroll provider and review payroll as required.
- Lead with the production of VAT returns for the group and ensure VAT rules are adhered to.
- Assist with the production of year-end audit packs and statutory accounts, and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain general ledger to agreed timetable; carry out month-end procedures for closing all ledgers.
- Lead with maintenance of asset registers including accounting for depreciation.
- Promote and comply with legislation and The Lowry’s policies on equal opportunities and health and safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.
- Be responsible for identifying and undertaking training and personal development to meet business needs.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the level of the post so as to ensure the smooth running of The Lowry.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Effective organisational skills.

- Common sense analytical approach to problem solving.
- VAT knowledge and experience Payroll and associated accounting knowledge.
- Qualified Accountant (CCAB/CIMA or equivalent).
- Or Part qualified in an equivalent qualification with 2+ years management accounting experience.
- Good working knowledge of Sage line 200 (or equivalent) Good practical knowledge of Excel including the use of Pivot tables.
- Preparation of VAT returns.
- Good working knowledge of Word.
- Practical experience of doing complicated reconciliations.
- Experience of managing and coaching team members.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to fulfilling the duties of the post.
