Job Title: Youth Mentor
Location: Based at the Ashburton Youth Club, Putney
Salary: £23,300 – £25,000 per annum
Job type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
The Role:
To reflect the need of our current demographic of young people, Regenerate is looking to recruit a highly motivated and hardworking male mentor. The role will create opportunities for young people to develop their skills, confidence and self-awareness, supporting them to build positive relationships and to engage with education, employment and training opportunities.

Responsibilities:
Mentoring work:
- Mentor a case load of mentees from Regenerate’s Mentoring and Coaching service and ‘The Feel Good Bakery’, delivering 1:1 and/or group work support at Regenerate, in Schools, the community and online
- Co-develop mentorship action plans with mentee’s; tailored to their goals and utilising a mentoring and executive function skills development approach
- Plan and prepare sessions for mentee’s, supporting them through the process and facilitating their exit plans
- Support the organisation and administration of trips for mentee’s periodically
- Adhere to Regenerate’s code of conduct when working with all young people and ensure that mentoring and coaching protocols and practice is adopted
- Work collaboratively with other organisations involved with the mentee’s support network when necessary, e.g. schools, Social Services, Youth Justice Service, to support them effectively
- Collate monitoring & evaluation information using Salesforce and relevant procedures. Report to your line manager regarding your mentee’s progress and work plan regularly
- Meet reporting deadlines as required
- Follow safeguarding procedures and Risk Assessments
All necessary training will be provided
Development:
- Participate in relevant professional development opportunities, supervision and training
- Any other duty that might be required by your line manager in relation to organisational goals
Internal Relations:
- Feed into team meetings, youth work working groups and supervision groups
- Attend strategic days away with the regenerate team and contribute to the development of the organisation as a whole

Experience
- Youth work training or any other relevant qualification/equivalent experience
- Demonstrable interest and knowledge of youth work practice and an understanding of the issues that young people face today
- Knowledge, understanding and experience in dealing with safeguarding issues and carrying out procedures for working with young people
You may also have:
- Experience of working with young people in an organised youth work setting
- Administration experience: specifically of collecting and collating monitoring information
- Proven track record of working effectively with challenging young people
- Delivering and evaluating activities that increase positive outcomes for young people
- Word-processing skills and full working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
