This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking Maintenance Operative with a passion for animals and animal conservation to join their team at their Aquarium in Newquay.
Join the team at the Aquarium where customers can experience a dazzling undersea safari through the oceans of the world, from the local Cornish coast to the stunning beauty of the Tropical Reef. With more than 40 innovative displays vividly bring to life the sights, sounds and smells of the sea, the Aquarium is the place for you!
Key Responsibilities:
This is a varied and integral role in the aquarium. You will be required to carry out a range of general maintenance duties such as regular painting, carpentry, plumbing and ensuring their leased area of the Aquarium is presentable at all times, and is safe for all members of the public.
As well as maintaining the aquarium and facilities, you will be expected to deal with their visitors in a friendly, approachable and knowledgeable manner ensuring their visit is a memorable one.
About You:
This position would suit a tradesperson in an existing maintenance role, looking for regular additional hours or looking to reduce their current hours.
It is essential that you are a general tradesperson with all round maintenance experience that includes carpentry, painting skills, plumbing and a proven background in a similar buildings maintenance role.
Previous maintenance experience from a customer based background will also stand you in good stead, but above all they’re looking for the right attitude, good communication skills and a personality that will put a smile on their customer’s faces throughout their visit!
You will be a team player with a keen interest in working as part of a highly motivated team and will relish a challenge, with a positive attitude, taking pride in your work and personal appearance.
A full manual driving license is required.
