The Role:
Working at the Plymouth facility as part of the Manufacturing Engineering Group, we are looking for a Maintenance manager. This role is to replace our current maintenance manager who leaves due to retirement after many years of service.
This role with appeal to a Maintenance Engineering Manager who is used to working in a high precision manufacturing environment.
Managing a skilled team of maintenance professionals as well as participating as required in line side maintenance activities.
The ideal candidate will have hands on maintenance experience of mechanical or electrical maintenance, knowledge of facilities maintenance, project management and team leadership skills.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Engineering / Maintenance Engineering Management experience.
Skilled in both Electrical & Mechanical Engineering disciplines. - Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Qualifications – HNC / HND
- Industrial Manufacturing experience – Food / Packaging / FMCG / Automotive (Any Industrial / Manufacturing environment considered).
- Proactive and pragmatic approach, which helps to maintain a culture of trust and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Leading and managing a team of highly skilled maintenance engineers. Including Electrical / electronic Bias, Mechanical fitters, apprentices & service hands.
- Management of third-party support / contractors on site. Including facilities cleaning and maintenance, security & fire.
- Running an effective TMP & PM schedule.
- Reacting to and managing machinery breakdowns & repairs.
- Managing facilities maintenance, upgrade, repair as required. BMS, HVAC, central coolant systems etc.
- Project managing machine & equipment rebuilds / retrofits.
- Project managing new builds for machines & automation equipment.
- Specifying and maintaining the availability of critical spares required to maintain MTTR measures.
- Ensuring all engineering and maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and on budget.
- Managing the CMMS system for site, including PM schedules, MTBF & MTTR measures & reporting.
- Involvement in project engineering teams, alongside the manufacturing engineering & production teams.
- Lead engineering team meetings, set objectives and perform staff skill evaluations.
- Ensuring Engineering work is always carried out in accordance with relevant H&S legislation and requirements.
