Job Title: Logistics and Purchasing Assistant
Location: West Malling, Kent
Salary: £18,000 – £22,000 per annum, depending on experience
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
The Company is specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of integrated, future-proofed mezzanine flooring solutions for major logistics and manufacturing centres in the UK and across Europe.
Their services maximise space and help optimise storage, warehousing & distribution and production processes for today’s evolving businesses.
The Role:
They have an exciting opportunity to join their fast-growing structural engineering company, specialising in steel mezzanine flooring, to work within their purchasing and logistics team as a purchasing assistant.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure the on-time and to budget delivery of all components required for each Mezzanine Flooring installation project.
Key Responsibilities:
- To make purchasing decisions that are cost effective and within budget
- To proactively manage project throughput including advising of project start dates and liaise with the contracts department regarding deliveries
- To proactively purchase long lead time components to avoid delays
- To check next day deliveries and collections to identify delays
- To work with the Group Procurement Manager to prevent fabricator overload
- To work collaboratively with suppliers
- Assist with accurate quotation of projects to support the business needs
Key Requirements:
- Strong administration skills
- Have an eye for detail
- Have a flair for numeracy
- Able to think “outside the box”
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Non-negotiable skills include excellent time-management
- Computer literate
- Confident in speaking to people over the phone
- Able to multi task
This role will require the successful candidate to work on projects both within the UK and Europe, so must be willing to travel when required.
