The Role:
Control the loads of freight internal to Knowles Logistics Pallet force and warehousing teams making sure that goods are moved in the most efficient way, taking into account schedules, costs, and health and safety of the teams. Remaining in constant contact with the transport, warehousing and Pallet force teams to ensure smooth running of the loads to meet customer requirements.
Must Have skills / experience
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience of working within a transport or planning office
- Excellent Telephone manner
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good UK Geographical Knowledge
- Highly organised and adaptable to fast paced changing situations
- Highly competent with PC literate – Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint and Transport IT/ web based systems
- The ability to work flexibly within a team and make changes to plans at short notice
- Strong problem solving skills
- Customer focused at all times ensuring top quality service levels
- Professional in appearance and manner
Key Accountabilities
Ensure that all loads are planned to meet customer requirements by:
- Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules
- Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from Pallet force, Warehouse and Transport teams
- Plan the schedule to update the Warehouse, dispatch and Pallet force teams to ensure produce is moved appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
- Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment
- Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information
- Promptly answering telephone in a professional manner and dealing with field and customer enquiries
- Liaise with Warehousing and Traffic teams to understand any unplanned issues and offer resolutions in planning to the management of loads
- Maximise Load Fill for all outbound deliveries
- Maximise Synergies between the Warehouse, Pallet force and Knowles groups
- Determine types or amounts of loads and vehicles required to build work orders
- RE-booking of failures
- Consolidate other customers work with movements external to Wimblington
