Morden College is a Charity dedicated to supporting older people. The Charity’s Community Services are provided in the Almshouse accommodation on site at Blackheath and at Ralph Perring Court in Beckenham, through the vibrant communal space in the John Morden Centre and the case management approach that proactively identifies, assesses, and supports the most vulnerable in our community.
Job Summary/Purpose:
The Lead Nurse takes overall responsibility for clinical leadership and clinical quality assurance reporting in Cullum Welch Court, having clinical oversight of the people with nursing care needs, role modelling and providing hands on nursing care. As a Registered Nurse you will comply with standards of professional practice/ conduct and maintain valid registration with the NMC to practice.
You will implement the Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement Programme for Cullum Welch Court ensuring it includes relevant local, national, and regulatory requirements as well as being a resource for the wider Health and Wellbeing team focusing on prevention of unnecessary hospital admissions and ensuring individuals needs are met safely.
You will be accountable for the provision and co-ordination of person-centered nursing care through strong clinical leadership, role modelling and by ensuring good communication between multi-disciplinary teams, residents, and families.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- As a Registered Nurse you will comply with standards of professional practice/ conduct and maintain valid registration with the NMC to practice.
- Be accountable for the provision and co-ordination of person-centred nursing care through strong clinical leadership, role modelling and by ensuring good communication between multi-disciplinary teams, residents, and families.
- Ensure that all staff adopt and maintain a person-centred approach to the development and delivery of high-quality clinical services and uphold the principle that each individual is at the centre of our services and the support they require.
- Facilitate excellent partnership working within Cullum Welch Court and the Clover General Practice being supportive and inclusive and encouraging a culture of mutual respect, observing staff practice to enhance performance and always ensure a person-centred approach to care.
- Work in collaboration with the Registered Manager ensure the efficient use of staffing resources in addition to Strengthening Morden College’s partnerships with Colleges of Higher Education to support the placements of Return to Practice, Student Nurse, and Paramedic practice placement processes, ensuring a working knowledge of current programme requirements, practice assessment strategies.
- Oversee the timely completion of robust electronic care documentation, for individuals with nursing care needs, ensuring a personalised plan of care is created, in consultation with the individual and their family/representatives. Implement regular monitoring, evaluation and updating of care plans, ensuring all nursing care is appropriate for the individual and their wellbeing.
The Candidates:
- You must be a qualified nurse and hold NMC registration.
- You must have previous experience in a Senior Nurse or Clinical Lead role.
- Has a minimum of 5 years hands-on nursing experience.
- Caring and compassionate with an excellent clinical track record.
