Correll Group is a High Voltage, Low Voltage & Fibre Optical engineering, installation and maintenance contractor, specialising in the onshore and offshore energy sector.
The Role:
Reporting to the Bids and Tendering manager, the Lead Estimator will be responsible for Leading the Estimating team, all day-to-day activities required to support the Bids and Tendering process to secure new and repeat business contracts.
The Candidate:
- Experience of negotiated framework bidding and competitive bidding – essential
- Experience of success in supporting a major contract or Business Unit and/or providing support to a professional function
- Line Management experience – desirable
- Excellent influencing, negotiation, and delegation skills
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent analytical skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office, predominantly MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
- Analytical and keen attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Right to Work in the UK
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead pricing strategies on larger tenders
- Support the wider bid teams in ensuring appropriate risk management throughout the tender period
- Identify commercial opportunities and supporting tender commercial strategies on larger schemes
- Ensure all estimate outputs required are completed and to the correct standard
- Support the presentation of large tenders to Directors
- Support in compiling tender pricing submission documents
- Establish and maintain good contacts with Project leads and support functions to ensure internal buy in is secured
- Involvement in client meetings, presentations, and tender negotiations
- Obtaining client feedback on performance and sharing of learning within wider estimating team
- Maintaining awareness of key sector technologies, prices, and market conditions
- Promoting and Leading continual improvement initiatives
- Manage change of Estimating proforma, etc
- Support in monitoring performance against the budgets
- Lead, motivate and coach estimating team members, providing developmental support to enable them to provide excellent commercial and procurement services
