Job Title: Lead Architectural Technician / Technologist

Salary: £40,000.00 PA
Job type: Full time. 40 Hours per week or otherwise as necessary.

The Role:
To lead design and be instrumental in supporting the operations team in developing unique, dynamic, compliant and innovative solutions to design challenges.
To support the implementation of design solutions through production of clear / well-communicated construction drawings and details.
To be instrumental in supporting the specification of design solutions in collaboration with our Commercial Team.
To provide design & detailing solutions to problems encountered during construction.
To document completed projects through production of clear and accurate as fitted information.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of construction and construction detailing
- High level of proficiency in the use of AutoCAD & REVIT to prepare constructional solutions and details
- Proficiency in Photoshop / 3D modelling and rendering to create presentation drawings
- Knowledge of planning policy and UK building regulations and the ability to design compliant solutions
- Attention to detail & problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage own time & workload within a flexible environment to deliver on deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and to support colleagues
- Effective communication skills both written & verbal
- Competency in the use of Microsoft Office
- Good numeracy skills
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to drive in UK / own
- Related degree / higher education qualification
Responsibilities:
- Production of high quality and well-presented existing and proposed drawings using both AutoCAD and Revit design software including: –
- Extract information from supplied survey & produce accurate ‘as existing’ information including plans and 3D
- Setup drawing sheets / templates inclusive of layering / line weights and alike to create consistently good-looking drawings
- Develop solutions to design problems in conjunction with the team
- Render 3D visuals to include materials and lighting perspectives
- Detail constructional elements, including modern building techniques, structural details and materials
- Produce working drawings (i.e. construction detailing/ detailed design)
- Produce as-built drawings/ layouts
- Create parametric families / blocks and assist in maintaining and updating templates and libraries
- Production of Photoshop generated presentation drawings, visuals and
- Management of UDC design software and libraries inclusive of templates
- Production of well-presented feasibility studies inclusive of presenting information provided by other members of the team
- Preparation and submission of statutory applications inclusive of all supporting information
- Delivery of specific tasks within deadlines provided inclusive of managing other members of the team to deliver on design
- Introduction of improvement to the business in relation to drawing efficiency and process building competence within the team
- Management of documents within the office
- Recording of time spent on individual projects on a daily basis
- Providing regular feedback to Operations Director and Project Portfolio Manager on job progress
- Taking ownership of all tasks allocated
- Answering telephone calls and taking messages
- Management of design workflow within the
- Checking design work by others prior to this leaving the (Final check by Director where required)
