The Programme is closely linked with their medium-term financial strategy and the Financial Services team are a key driver in achieving the organisation’s aspirational vision.
The Role:
The council is looking to recruit 2 Lead Accountants, to help continue to support this transformation journey. These posts will be responsible for leading a team of finance officers, embracing and helping develop their excellent business partnering approach supporting their service managers and directors. They are looking for enthusiastic and pragmatic individuals, with can do attitudes, significant experience of financial stewardship, along with excellent people, communication and management skills
There are opportunities across the finance teams, with posts supporting the organisations key directorates, Adult Social Care, Children Services and Education, Environment and Economy and Resources and Transformation.
Key Requirements:
As a Lead Accountant you should hold a CCAB / CIMA qualification, be undertaking CPD and be able to demonstrate experience in managing staff. In recognition of the knowledge that experience in other sectors can bring, whist an understanding of local government finance would be an advantage they would stress that it is not essential.
