Job Role:
Sir Josiah Mason Trust currently has a vacancy for a full or part time Kitchen Porter to work in its busy kitchen in Alexandra House, a residential care home in Solihull. As part of the catering services team you will ensure that you always provide a top quality and responsive service for all residents, and that meal times are an enjoyable occasion.
Full time hours are 40 hours per week but we would consider a job share.
You will receive regular training and supervision, along with fantastic progression opportunities within the team.
Key duties:
- Cleaning of the kitchen and all equipment, its surrounds and equipment including
clearing, cleaning, washing up within the kitchen, also ‘in depth’ cleaning
- Using any approved specialised cleaning products and methods laid down.
- General kitchen duties e.g. washing up.
- Where necessary, preparation of dining areas/dining furniture.
- Assist in the receipt, checking and storage of deliveries and stock rotation.
- Ensure food hygiene and health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
Key things about you:
- Some experience in a similar role in a commercial catering kitchen would be beneficial
- Experience working with older people in long term care would be beneficial
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, methodical approach to work
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Exhibit a caring and compassionate attitude while articulating true concern for people
- An enhanced DBS check will be taken up for successful candidates
