Job Title: Junior Service Engineer

Salary: Base salary up to £25,000 + overtime

You’ll be provided with the training that you’ll need to shine in this role, as long as you’ve already got a keen interest in mechanical and electronic machines and like to turn your hands to anything practical. You’ll need a ‘can do’ approach to problem solving, although by the time you’re working directly with customers, you’ll know all that you need to know to give a great service. If the thought of developing your skills by working with a range of hot melt and glue application equipment interests you, and you’ve also got bags of enthusiasm and a desire to learn, then you’ll probably fit in perfectly.
You’ll be based in Basildon but working on site at customer locations across the UK, Ireland and even sometimes further afield. No two days will be the same and you’ll be kept busy doing servicing, repairs, and installations on a variety of machines and meeting a variety of people. Full on the job and supplier-based training will be provided, must hold driving licence and live within commuting distance of Basildon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Servicing, repairing, maintenance and installation of a range of hot melt and cold glue application equipment, at the factory in Basildon and at customers’ factories in the UK, Ireland and sometimes further afield
- Professionally representing two leading brands of industrial glue application systems
- You will work alongside experienced engineers to learn a wide range of skills and gain valuable experience
- Full on the job and supplier-based training will be provided
- There is the opportunity for the right person to take on increasing amounts of responsibility and be rewarded accordingly as the business expands
Key Requirements:
- Technical and electrical experience
- Basic understanding of tools and technology needed to complete repairs (tools provided)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively via phone, e-mail and face-to-face
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good computer skills
- Be self-motivated with a flexible ‘can do’ attitude with the desire and willingness and ability to learn new skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence
