The Role
Spherea UK has entered a growth phase and is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Test Equipment Technician who will contribute to our growth and use this amazing opportunity to develop their skills and progress within the company.
This role requires an individual with a logical & analytical mind-set who is always keen to learn and who will enjoy having a diverse range of engineering projects. The ideal candidate is self- motivated and result driven. Coaching and mentoring will be provided with the objective of developing the candidate to become autonomous in their day-to-day activities and to support their career aspirations.
The role is based in the office in Bournemouth, with occasional travel to customer sites.
Main Responsibilities:
- Working on modular test systems, used across a number of industries such as Space, Air, Military and Nuclear
- Supporting production test
- Working closely with specialist Engineering functions as required
- Assisting the Delivery Unit Manager with the successful running of engineering projects
- Driving your self-development within engineering
Key Skills & Experience:
- Qualified to HNC/HNC or higher
- Confident in the use of standard instruments (DMM, Oscilloscope, LCR meter)
- Able to read & interpret technical drawings (GA, wiring schedules & schematics)
- You will be able to fault-find to at least module level, ideally to component level
Additional Skills or interests that would be advantageous:
- PCB Design
- LabVIEW Development
- Qualified to IPC standards for wiring (IPC-WHMA-A-620)
- An understanding of other engineering domains; e.g. Control systems/Power/Electro-mechanic/Physics/Radio-comms.
