Job Summary/Purpose:
Under the guidance of the IT Lead/Business IT Manager, the IT Services Administrator will be responsible for:
- Supporting the work of the IT section across Morden College at Blackheath and at other sites.
- Supporting the delivery of IT solutions and services within Morden College, consistent with organisational plans and strategies, IT best practice and agreed functional specifications.
- Providing a proactive IT support service to all users; maintaining, updating and supporting IT hardware, software and other IT related systems where required.
- Providing an IT administration service across the College in support of IT processes and procedures and other organisational key IT applications and system
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
IT / IS Support (in conjunction with external support organisations):
- To ensure IT/IS systems are supported ensuring optimum use and maximum benefit by and for users, owners and all other stakeholders.
- To liaise with HR and other department managers to ensure the IT requirements of new starters and those transferring roles are met and IT equipment is issued and returned from leavers as required.
- To react in an unsupervised manner to problems of a complex nature using initiative and experience to trace, track, report and resolve issues arising from system failures, and document as per departmental procedures.
- To install, maintain and support the college’s print services, including: photocopying, scanning and fax services via the use of multiple MFP’s and other standalone devices.
Microsoft 365 Sharepoint
- To take on the role of MS Sharepoint Administrator and the go-to person for all user issues.
- To take on the role of Sharepoint developer – working with and engaging users to grow the site, develop and populate new content and processes, streamline existing flows and conduct training for stakeholders where required.
Telephony / Communication Services
- To support the Colleges telephony system (including deployment and support of VoIP and unified telecommunications solutions) across College sites and between suppliers, where required.
- To setup and resolve issues with mobile devices.
- To work with outside agencies to support the current telecommunications infrastructure, including leased lines solutions for core network availability and fixed line telephony services supporting vital resident services.
IT Administration
- To produce regular IT helpdesk and telephony statistics on a monthly basis.
- To ensure an accurate inventory is maintained at all times, including the transfer of systems from and between service users.
- To actively participate in the production of departmental documentation and ensure it is updated, maintained and distributed accordingly, where required.
- To ensure network and data security is maintained at all times by undertaking a regular programme of checks and audits on key systems and processes.
- To support the IT Lead/Business IT Manager on the development, implementation and regular reviews of College business continuity and IT Recovery Plans – ensuring alignment with IT backup and recovery strategies.
- To administer the IT Programme board that co-ordinates IT work programmes across the College.
