Salary: £22,485 to £24,501, plus 14% shift allowance for working shift over a 24 x 7 x 365 day per year

About the Company
Ashford Borough Council is a local authority which provides services to residents in Ashford, Tenterden and a large network of surrounding villages.
The Role
A new Border Control Facility is being set up in Ashford on the Sevington site near junction 10A of the M20. This site will provide the customs and transit checks required for hauliers following Brexit.
We are looking for individuals who have a customer centric approach to provide 1st & 2nd line technical support to employees working at the site. This will be carried out either by face to face, remote access, phone or email.
You will need to have the ability to make decisions independently to implement fixes and solutions to resolve issues, or to prioritise calls and pass to 3rd line or third party support.
What You’ll Do
- Supporting all user hardware and software issues – including all corporate software and hardware. Including but not limited to: desktoplaptopsmart devices & tablets.
- Have the ability to take responsibility of support calls that would have been logged and start to be addressed by others on different shift.
- Answering the BCP support desk phone and logging of Service Desk calls on the BCP call logging system.
Key Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience of PC systems and architecture
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Windows, Office 365
- Experience of supporting smart devices and tablets
