The Company:
SMC Pneumatics is based in Milton Keynes, with a well-established 14-acre site. UK customers benefit from quicker delivery and customised product options where required because many SMC products are finished or assembled by hand in the Milton Keynes facility.
In addition to the 230 staff based in Milton Keynes, SMC also has a nationwide sales team of around 120 technically trained sales engineers.
Thanks to excellent relationships with 50 regional and national distributors, SMC products are available from 750 trade counters across the entire UK. This means that customers can purchase SMC components in a way that suits them best.

About the role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and organised IT Support technician to join our team, with a particular focus on supporting and administrating email and M365 (O365). Working alongside two other support technicians you will provide support to 400+ users onsite and field-based users by phone, email, walk-in or via the ticketing system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mailbox administration and support of email systems
- Resolving M365 (O365) support tickets submitted to the IT helpdesk
- Managing end user accounts and conducting periodic verifications
- Creating and administrating network shares
- Playing a key role in the employee onboarding process
- Liaising with the global M365 (O365) team for support and participate in regional and global projects
- Administering Microsoft Office licensing
- Setting up and administrating company mobile phone devices.
- Assisting with IT purchasing and asset management
- Documenting and maintaining IT procedures and knowledge base articles
Skills and Experience Required:
- Solid knowledge of mailbox administration in O365.
- Proficient in supporting O365 applications, in particular Outlook and Teams
- Experience with email security and familiar with email security concepts
- Strong experience of Windows Active Directory environments including Group Policy, across multiple OUs
- High attention to detail and degree of accuracy required
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Desired Skills and Experience:
- A desire to fully utilise the M365 Platform and explore opportunities it can bring to the business.
- Comfortable with presenting to and training small groups of users
- Experience of working with regional and global IT teams
- Microsoft Intune or SharePoint experience a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of support working in a fast-paced environment
