Job Title: Luxury Car Dealership IT Specialist

Location: Chelmsford, CM1 3BH

Salary: Up to £35,000.00 per year

Job type: Full Time, Permanent – Monday to Friday

Saxton 4×4, the UK’s largest independent used 4×4 and luxury car dealership, stocking over 1000 vehicles, based in Chelmsford, Essex, is recruiting for a dynamic and motivated IT Specialist/Technician to join the company at a pivotal point in its growth strategy.

The role:

Reporting to the Marketing Manager and Directors duties & Responsibilities will include:

  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary devices
  • Check computer hardware to ensure functionality
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Develop and maintain local networks, ensuring security and privacy of networks is set as needed
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Organise and schedule upgrades, and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  • Perform trouble shooting to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Research, design and implement software programs, testing and evaluating their suitability to the business
  • Identify areas for modification in existing programs
  • Project manage the implementation and induction of new it software/programs in the business and ensure all delegates are trained and have comprehensive understanding of the system as required
  • Any other duties as instructed by management
  • Review, analyse, develop, and implement system changes in a timely manner

The Candidate:

You’ll be intellectually curious and strive to understand everything you can about the business and its requirements which is reflected in your provision of a comprehensive solution.

  • Must possess a valid UK Driving Licence
  • Proven experience as an it specialist/ developer/technician or relevant position
  • Degree in computer science, engineering or relevant field desirable but not essential
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and desire to probe further into data
  • Excellent communication ability
  • The ability to communicate clearly all IT solutions to all employees
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
