The role:
As Mobile App Developer in our Solihull office, you’ll be part of an Agile team that are building platforms around new advanced technology. As technology evolves, so will our applications, so development is long-term. As we enter the next growth phase for the company, we need someone to help drive both the Android and iOS and cross platform apps forward with an initial strong emphasis on iOS and be a part of this innovative team.
You will have an active role in shaping the development of our product’s mobile interface and will play an integral part in strengthening the user experience for our customers.

- You’re a proven developer with an excellent track-record in delivering great mobile apps to clients utilising Agile practices
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Work as part of cross functional, passionate Agile (SCRUM/Kanban) project teams ensuring high quality delivery is at the heart of the development process
- Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support)
- Contributing toward predictable delivery of quality releases
- Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of continually increasing our development productivity
- The ability to take requirements from specification to completed stage
- Produce fully functional mobile applications within clean code guidelines
- Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to solve them
- Updates job knowledge by researching new technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks
- Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions
- Troubleshoot and debug to optimise performance
- Interest in automated testing and building this into all aspects of the app
- To be enthusiastic, fearless and boundary-less with the ability to coach and mentor
The Candidate:
- Previous working experience as a Mobile App Developer
- Rich portfolio of released applications on the App store or the Play Store
- Solid experience developing native iOS apps in Objective-C & Swift and Android apps in Java/Kotlin. Experience in React Native is advantageous.
- Demonstratable initiative towards structured architecture/software design, backed up with documentation
- Deep understanding and experience working with microservices and event driven architectures
- Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
- In-depth understanding of Design Patterns in either MVVM, MVP and MVC
- Experience or knowledge in TDD unit testing in either iOS or Android would be highly advantageous
- Working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methods and toolsets for Mobile Apps
- Passionate about design, with a general thirst for digital knowledge and a significant interest in new emerging technologies
- Ability to multi-task and stay organised in a dynamic work environment and meet tight deadlines, whilst remaining calm under pressure
- Analytical and inquisitive, with excellent attention to detail
- Innovative and creative, with a concise, precise and effective approach to problem solving and the ability to develop, deliver and evaluate brilliant ideas
- Personable and approachable, with an enthusiastic and motivational nature and an overall passion for excellence
