About the Role:
Manage a portfolio of existing and lapsed customers to promote, retain and sell a broad range of hazardous waste collection and disposal services in line with the company’s sales KPI’s and wider business objectives.
Work with the Sales Director on new sales avenues, including working on CRM Sales automation and new approaches to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to and implement the company’s annual sales plan
- For an allocated list of existing and lapsed customers:
- develop sustained and close relationships understanding their regular and upcoming needs to ensure we become provider of choice;
- make regular contact;
- ensure that service meets expectations; and
- follow up on all quotations issued in a timely manner, taking appropriate action to maximise conversion rate within company’s margin and service delivery parameters in order to win new business from existing clients, increase spend, specifically within the hazardous waste market, including asbestos removal, COSHH, hazardous and other specialist sectors of market, and retain accounts.
- Make direct calls or respond to email enquiries to generate new business from new customers
- Respond to email or telephone enquiries, generating customer quotes and overseeing their preparation, distribution and follow-up
- At time to time, provide support to field-based colleagues, ensuring that they are turning quotes and orders around in a quick fashion to increase revenue and our view with our clients
- Continual review of customer account sales activity and identifying growth areas – prioritising time and resources accordingly. Report on customer-base regularly to contribute an understanding of the internal sales pipeline.
- On a consistent and ongoing basis update CRM in line with GDPR legislation. Recording all interactions with customers and prospects – including telephone calls, emails and written communications
- Support Marketing by assisting and following up on marketing campaigns and prospective customers. Manage and follow up on any external mailings such as letters, literature or promotional offers.
- Completion of, or obtaining, customer purchase orders and overseeing the speedy resolution of customer invoice queries
- Liaising with service partners, both for sub-contact and Hazibag.
Provide reports and analytic overviews from our CRM system for Sales Director as part of ongoing planning and reviews.
About you:
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets, people management and customer service
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate effectively and build relationships
- Proven track record in successful account management and sales generation
- Comparable B2B sales experience
- An understanding and/or experience of waste transport operations is desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of the asbestos market and/or hazardous waste management desirable, solutions and legislation
- A positive and ‘can do’ attitude
- Commercially driven to exceed targets
- Understanding the importance of and experience of working with a CRM
- Organised, able to prioritise and manage their and other’s workloads
- Knowledge and understanding of the asbestos market and/or hazardous waste management, solutions and legislation is desirable
- PC literate with good knowledge of IT systems, Microsoft Office suite
