Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer for CCTV, WIFI & Network

Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 per annum (+ car & phone allowance), dependant on skill set and certifications

As an IT MSP providing service and solutions to SMB’s & the Hospitality sector an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Engineering Team as an Infrastructure Engineer, supporting a range of high-end hospitality clients. We have offices in Newbury, Manchester and a team of field engineers working out of London and you could become part of this dynamic team, supporting a range of high-end Hotels and SMB clients.
About the role:
We are looking for a versatile engineer who has infrastructure expertise around installing and maintaining CCTV, Network, WIFI & Voice solutions including skills around all cabling activities. The ideal candidate will need to have a broad understanding of these solutions as well as network infrastructure and technology. They will need to have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and experience with leading on project implementations from a technical perspective, along with a positive helpful outlook when dealing with customers in and around the UK.
This will be a field-based role. The majority of your time will either be spent working on client sites, performing site audits, implementing new solutions and maintaining existing infrastructure, alongside other solutions that our clients may have, or you will be planning and preparing for forthcoming installation or upgrade projects.
Requirements:
- Experience designing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining CCTV platforms, Door Entry Platforms and Wifi solutions
- Good knowledge of IP, networking, and IT infrastructure
- Ability to run, patch and terminate cabling to support installation of new hardware
- Ability to provide training to end users for CCTV, Wifi and Door Entry platforms
- A proven background through an apprenticeship or trade qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Support systems covered by client contracts
- Full UK driving licence.
About you:
The ideal candidate will be someone who has previous experience with managing cabling, CCTV, Wifi and Door Entry solutions and is comfortable working within both technical support and project led environments.
Essential Knowledge
- A desire to learn and adapt to new skills and technologies
- A great team player with the ability to inspire confidence in clients through helping non-technical people understand technical aspects
- Networking knowledge and skills with experience of maintaining converged network solutions
- Knowledge of various CCTV, Door Entry and Wifi platforms
- Experience in remote diagnostics along with analysis and monitoring.
Specific Technical Experience/knowledge
- Ability to confidently design, install and maintain CCTV, Wifi and Door Entry platforms with little support
- Proven knowledge and ability to work on issues relating to Voice, Wifi, CCTV & Networking systems etc.
- Basic understanding of Windows Server infrastructure
- System hardware consisting of HP/Aruba, Ruckus, Meraki & Watchguard
- Network architecture and system management, including configuring devices consisting of routers, firewalls and switches (L1, L2 & L3)
- Security process & procedures, that promote best practice security while maintaining a functional user base.
