Job Title: ICT Software Developer

Location: Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority, Felixstowe

Salary: £34,723 – £48,587 per annum (Career Graded – depending upon experience)

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Positions Available: 2 Positions Available

Closing date: 11.30pm 15 October 2023

Port Health’s ICT team are crucial to supporting these operations, both internally by providing IT services and support to staff at Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority (SCPHA), and also externally for other Port Health authorities around the UK.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Software Developer. The work is fast-paced and varied, integral to the efficient running of SCPHA and our customers.

About the Role:

  • Work on software and systems that are critical to supporting our 24×7 service
  • Have the opportunity to work with a range of exciting technologies
  • Be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle from project initiation to production deployment and support. Help design, develop, improve and integrate solutions
  • Evaluate emerging industry technologies and best practices, continuously improving our services directly contributing to our mission
  • Work in an environment that takes a modern approach to Software Development (eg SCRUM/Agile)

What you will need:

  • Bring experience, enthusiasm and a commitment to working hard
  • Work and contribute to a team, but also be able to self-start and work on your own initiative
  • Have experience working with technologies such as: C# .NET Core, MVC, Entity Framework, JavaScript, CSS and common libraries such as Bootstrap, React.js, Node.js, AWS, CI/CD, Pipelines, JEST, DynamoDB, MSSql
  • Be passionate about technology and innovation. Willing to continuously develop your skillset and innovate to meet business needs
  • Experience working with any other enterprise technologies, experience working across the full stack would be advantageous
