Job Title: HR Director

About the role:
To Lead Dexters people team and working closely with MD’s provide proactive HR operations service at all stages of the colleague lifecycle. Provide expert and business focused employee relations advice to ensure fair, consistent and appropriate action. Lead and develop a fleet strategy to deliver cost-effective and environmentally sensitive transport options. Act as a member of the Help and Advice leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the use of the Access HRIS system to provide seamless service delivery and reporting of colleague lifecycle.
- Working closely with payroll, developing best practice and processes to ensure colleagues are paid correctly and on time.
- Provide pro-active management information to MD’s to help manage colleague’s earnings e.g. NMW monitoring, commission reports, loans and guarantees, absence statistics together with recommended actions.
- Provide monthly, quarterly and annual people reporting and analysis on retention, absence, earnings and other KPIs.
- Develop and review salary schedules, salary review and benefits to ensure fairness and consistency.
- Manage and monitor Dexters Workplace Pension ensuring regulatory compliance and colleague engagement.
- Manage relationship with external legal counsel, seeking opinion for any complex issues.
- Provide employee relations advice where necessary to avoid formal disciplinary action where ever possible, upholding Dexters culture.
- Provide support to Directors / Managers both informally and in more complex matters such as redundancy, dismissal and consultation.
- Advise on all upcoming employment legislation and make recommendations to evolve company best practice.
- Develop best practices, templates and colleague documentation in line with Dexters culture and to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support Dexters ambitious acquisition plans. Undertake due diligence for acquisitions and TUPE transfers. Partner with MD’s to integrate teams and harmonise terms and conditions.
- Working with the Head of Fleet Operations, ensure the cost-effective delivery of fleet and transport plans.
- Manage, guide and develop the People team to create a fun and fast paced environment with clear career and learning plans.
Requirements:
- Qualified to CIPD Level 7
- Commercial approach
- Experience leading an HR team in a fast paced multi site environment
- Enthusiastic, driven, with a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude
- Exceptional planning, communication and project delivery skills
