In this role, you will work closely with our Head of HR Solutions and collaborate with business leaders to drive and deliver HR solutions that maximise people performance, engagement, strategy, and workforce planning, ultimately strengthening our business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
As an HR Solutions Specialist, you will have five primary areas of responsibility:
Employee Relations:
- Address complex employee relations (ER) matters, leading investigations and facilitating practical solutions.
- Cultivate a positive ER and Industrial Relations climate with employees and unions.
- Provide coaching to line managers on ER issues, promoting proactive case handling, diversity, and inclusion.
Analytics:
- Generate centralised HR reports on crucial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Analyse workforce data, offer recommendations and collaborate with business leaders on performance improvement strategies.
- Identify employment issues from workforce trends and feedback and actively support HR interventions.
Business Development:
- Lead HR initiatives and change programs, ensuring efficient resource coordination.
- Coach and advise managers on various staff leadership activities, enhancing their leadership capabilities.
- Support commercial opportunities, including participation in new bids and outsourcing projects.
Communication & Engagement:
- Manage local and head office communications and engagement campaigns, achieving the HR Director’s specified results.
- Continuously enhance tools and policies based on external market trends, insights, and internal best practices.
- Act as an HR function ambassador, representing HR internally and externally as appropriate.
Administration:
- Manage HR functions for central staff (band C and below), including pre-employment checks, personnel files, payroll, and training needs analysis.
- Contribute to developing organisation-wide HR policies and practices in alignment with legislation and best practices.
- Maintain competency through training and continuous professional development (CPD).
About you:
Essential:
- Extensive HR generalist experience, with exposure to unionised public (preferably NHS) sector and private sector environments.
- Proven experience in leading, developing, and delivering change programs while improving employee engagement.
- Qualifications/experience in mediation and coaching.
- Technical expertise in employee relations.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and employees at all levels.
- High proficiency in IT and financial literacy, especially in using Excel for staffing analysis and maintaining high standards of accuracy in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint for HR documentation.
- Self-motivated, resilient, independent, and discreet.
- Previous experience with TUPE, outsourcing services, or mergers and acquisitions.
Desirable
- CIPD qualified or equivalent.
- Training and experience in job evaluation and matching.
- Knowledge of NHS Agenda for Change.
