Coventry College was formed in August 2017 as the sole General Further Education provider in the city, delivering vocational, technical and professional education and training to learners of all ages, from Entry Level to Higher Education.
The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified HR Business Partner to join our team as an experienced HR generalist to provide expertise and support to managers and to lead an employee relations caseload with an emphasis on driving down absence management, early intervention at an informal level and providing training and support for managers to positively impact performance management. Ideally, you’ll have a flair for spreadsheets and analysing reports to support Key Performance Indicators and to assist with the strategic development of the HR service and the wider College.
Sitting in the heart of the organisation, the HR team works closely across all areas of the College and has an in-depth understanding of the organisational and people challenges. Our pragmatic operational and strategic advice and guidance helps to determine people plans and priorities. Our key stakeholders value our business partnering approach and our strong collaborative style, and the HR team supports each other in their hands-on delivery to the business.
Ideal Candidate
As an HR Business Partner, you should:
- Hold a Level 7 CIPD qualification, or equivalent
- Hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths and English, or willingness to work towards
You should also be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of developing and implementing HR policies and procedures in line with organisational and legislative requirements
- A passion for gathering and analysing data
- Experience of dealing with complex employee cases (including safeguarding related issues) and working with line managers to achieve successful outcomes
- Experience of managing restructuring/redundancy/change management programmes
- Experience of developing and enhancing HR systems and processes
