Job Title: HR Advisor
Location: Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Job type: Permanent, Part Time, 25 hours per Week
The HR Advisor role is generalist in nature- and deals mainly with Resourcing and Employee Relations for employees in Cleaning, Caretaking, Security, Customer Services, Halls & Maintenance although there is some flexibility. They work closely with Line Managers coaching where required on performance management and appraisal and Attendance matters, providing guidance and advice.
This job holder will deputise for the HR Manager on all generalist, Employee Relations and Resourcing issues and deputises for the HR & Payroll Advisor on matters relating to Payroll & Pensions.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure all disciplinary & grievance matters are dealt with.
- To work closely with the operational areas to deliver essential support, and specialist advice and guidance
- To work closely with Line Managers on performance management issues advising on probationary reviews and coaching Line managers.
- To assist in managing the appraisal process in the areas concerned ensuring timescales are met and Managers are kept on track
- To provide and develop Management Information statistics and monthly reports for management purposes
- It is a requirement that all matters are dealt with using tact and diplomacy, and that confidentiality is strictly maintained at all times.
The Candidate:
- Already achieved CIPD intermediate / advanced qualification or similar
- Proven successful track record in HR Advisor role
- Experience of using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to an advanced level
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both orally and in writing, to all, including senior managers.
- Excellent organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure, coping with competing deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required
- Previous experience in HR computerised information system
- Previous experience of working with trade unions or working in a unionised environment is highly desirable
