Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Group Head of HR & Development, ensuring the following
responsibilities are carried out in a timely fashion, and have a full understanding of HR
tasks, including but not limited to:
- Process all new starters including production of employment contracts, induction packs, reference requests, and company handbooks.
- Process leavers including the submission of the resignation acceptance letters and calculating leavers’ final Pay in Lieu of annual leave due.
- Maintain absence records and return to works.
- Process all paperwork associated with employment changes and variations to contracts.
- Create and maintain all employee personnel files, ensuring archiving of leavers and cleansing of information held in line with the Data Protection Act (GDPR).
- Support the administration of annual pay review, employee survey and HR statistics.
- Assist with projects, such as new HR system roll out, employment contract overhaul, ensuring these align with group HR.
- Coordinate training sessions.
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc.)
- Consulting on issues related to workplace relations and performance management.
- Providing advice and assistance on policies, procedure and legislation.
- Co-ordinate compliance for legal processes, such as a disciplinary or grievance.
- Take minutes for informal and formal process meetings/hearings.
Experience Required:
- CIPD level 3 or equivalent
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced standalone HR role or within a very small HR team.
- Good IT skills including use of Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience working within a busy office environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as well as part of a team.
- Must demonstrate a strong sense of customer focus (internal & external).
- Reliable and highly self-motivated.
- Able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective at problem solving, taking a common-sense approach and working to resolve problems first before escalating.
- Dynamic and able to respond quickly in an emergency, prioritising tasks.
- Able to actively build and develop relationships with both colleagues and customers.
