Job Title: HR/People Associate Adviser (Maternity Cover)
Location: Colwick, Nottingham
Salary: £22,183 – £27,041 per annum (£13,490 – £16,444 pro rata)
Job type: Part time (22.5 hours per week), Fixed-term Contract (for up to 12 months)
The People Directorate supports 37 of their Academies and the Central Team to ensure their 16,000+ pupils get the best education. They do this through a customer focused but compliant service, seeking to balance between being proactive and responsive to customers’ needs by promoting their Trust adopted people commitments to encourage continuous improvement in the organisation.
This is an exciting time to be joining, as they are implementing a different service delivery model based out of their head office in Colwick, Nottingham. As a People Associate Advisor you will be involved in their aims to imbed their people commitments with key priorities such as; staff wellbeing, employee engagement, increasing efficiencies in their processes through the implementation of new technologies and provision of on-going advice, support and development to line managers.
The Role:
- Their first point of contact for people, with a variety of queries from managers and contacts within the academies and other service teams. Through the use of remote working technology and telephone support to resolve all queries, with the support of your colleagues, in a timely manner.
- Provide first line support on people related process in order to manage attendance issues, disability issues and support to manage the long term absence along with any need to involve external services
- Provide advice and guidance on robust procedures for pre-employment checks for staff and volunteers in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidance
- Contribute to the development of effective processes to support their teams and managers in carrying out their people management responsibilities
- Maintenance and use of People Management Systems to create efficient administration of employee records to create additional efficiency in their processes
- Ensure timely and accurate flow of information to the payroll provider on agreed deadlines
The Candidate:
- Understand the employee relationships with a strong problem solving and decision-making approach to managing processes
- Excellent communication skills and an attention to detail when handling sensitive data
- ‘Can do’ attitude, with a proactive outlook to constantly evolve processes and seek improvement
- Ability to progress towards a CiPD qualification or relevant experience of working with in the CIPD framework for people management
