SYNLAB Laboratory Services is part of SYNLAB UK & Ireland, who provide laboratory diagnostic and training services to a diverse range of sectors including healthcare and wellness, sport, travel, corporates and insurer, logistics and family law.
The Role:
We have an exciting new opportunity for a full-time HR Administrator to permanently join our growing Human Resources team in Basildon, Essex.
Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, you will be a vital member of the Human Resources team. We are looking for an efficient and organised administrator with excellent communication skills, good attention to detail, and who can work well within a team environment.
The ideal HR Administrator will have some experience in the following:
- Previously worked in an HR Admin role
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to work autonomously and flexibly
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications
Within the role, you will be responsible for the delivery of a range of HR administration such as:
- Provide all general HR administrative support, including but not limited to preparing and issuing offer letters, contracts and all other supporting documentation.
- Ensure the HR System accurately reflects current staff conditions and details. This includes inputting starters, leavers, contractual amendments, changes of more information, and other administrative requirements
- Payroll and onboarding activities
- Maintenance of personnel files and filing system for all new starters/leavers / internal movers
- Accurately processing and checking data on the HR System & payroll database about all new starters/leavers / internal movers
- Respond to reference requests for current or ex-members of staff
- Provide administrative support associated with monthly payroll and pension administration.
- Act as an expert and lead on all payroll matters, providing guidance and support to the HR team, Managers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain knowledge of sick pay and maternity/paternity/share parental regulations, including statutory and occupational requirements.
- Work collaboratively with HR advisors, ensuring all sickness absence is processed accurately on the HR system, including supporting documentation.
- Deal with all pay queries, such as sick pay entitlement, unpaid leave, casuals etc
- Identify the root causes of inaccurate pay, working with the HR Advisors and line managers to rectify specific situations and update and improve processes and understanding to avoid repeat occurrences.
- Be the first point of contact for all under and over payment queries. Liaise with HR advisors and line managers on relevant payroll queries.
