The Role:
If you would like to be part of a dynamic team that identifies, devises and implements solutions for the difficulties faced by homeless households, we would love to hear from you. Our vibrant Housing Needs Team provides a service aimed at preventing or relieving homelessness.
You should have experience of housing advice and an understanding of private and public sector housing law. An Awareness of the welfare benefits framework would be beneficial. You should have an appreciation of the circumstances that cause homelessness and be able to deal with members of the public sympathetically but firmly.
The job is 37 hours per week Monday – Friday during office hours (8.30-1700hrs) You will also provide an out of hour’s service on a rota basis (approximately once every 2 months), responding to homelessness emergencies throughout the district including incidents in temporary accommodation. You should have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle, for which an appropriate mileage allowance is payable.
