This Council is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and conscientious individual to support their housing team.
Based in the offices in Thrapston, you will work in our small but busy and proactive housing team. You will be educated to degree standard or equivalent and will ideally have experience of working within a housing environment. You will carry out a wide range of work, from providing initial housing advice to customers, to research and gather information, to assisting with our busy development programme.
You will be in contact with the public, other professionals and councillors so you will need experience of dealing with people as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will also need good numeracy and IT skills. You will be flexible and willing to work both co-operatively within the team and also on your own initiative.
If you feel you have the necessary skills and can demonstrate an understanding of housing services, the Council can offer the opportunity to assist in a wide variety of housing work.

This is a part-time post (18.5 hours per week, preferably over 5 days) and in order to meet the needs of the service, you will ideally work between 3 and 4 hours per day, with an anticipated start time of 10am. However, the importance of helping employees balance their work and home life is recognised by offering flexible working arrangements that enable you to balance your working life with other priorities, so there may be some flexibility, but you would generally be expected to work on Fridays.
