Job Title: Highway Inspection / Road Safety Trainer
Location: Coventry (hybrid working available)
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 (dependent on experience)

Main Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will develop, prepare and deliver a wide range of highway inspection, road safety, and traffic management training courses at venues throughout the UK, Ireland and occasionally overseas.
While we conduct a wide range of courses throughout the U.K., it is desirable that the candidate has the relevant knowledge and experience to carry out a variety of courses including the below.
- Highway safety inspector training
- General road safety related courses
- Temporary traffic management (LANTRA Awards – NHSS 12D M7)
Training will be provided to the right candidate with a long term aim for you deliver a wider variety of traffic management and highway related courses.
Daily responsibilities:
- Delivering training courses throughout the UK, Ireland and occasionally overseas. Due to the diverse training locations, significant amounts of travel and time staying away from home are part of this role.
- Delivering our training courses via zoom/teams.
- Development, updating and recording of training courses for our online training platform.
- Assisting with the development of new and existing training courses.
- Preparing material for training courses.
- Development of vocational qualifications, competency certification with respect to TMS training course.
- Maintaining and developing wide and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of transportation, traffic management, road safety and highway engineering issues.
- It is desirable that you have an ability to undertake Road Safety Audits in accordance with GG119, to assist the audit team. However, training will be provided in order for you to become a part of the audit team in the long term.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in one or more of the following; highway inspection and maintenance, road safety engineering, or traffic policing.
- Full UK driver’s license
- Experience in creating and delivering training courses.
- Trainers often run courses on their own so the desire and ability to present technical subjects is a key factor.
- Knowledge of current Road Safety issues, Highway Design Standards and Traffic Engineering and Traffic Management. (desirable but not essential).
- Carry out Road Safety Audits in accordance with GG 119 (preferably Team Leader status, otherwise Team Member). (desirable but not essential).
- Member of SoRSA, CIHT, IHE or other industry professional body. (desirable but not essential).
