Who Are Border Aggregates;
Border Aggregates are suppliers of natural aggregates and stone products to the landscaping and construction industry throughout the United Kingdom.
Our customer base includes builders’ merchants, construction and civil engineering companies etc. Our materials are selected from premier sources in the United Kingdon and, wherever possible, local quarried aggregates are used that are specific to the area.
This policy supports local business and reduces the environmental impact of transporting aggregates.
Established for over 20 years the Company has grown organically operating from 7 sites, giving national coverage using our own delivery fleet of modern tipper and flat vehicles.
Our continued investment in vehicles, plant and machinery gives us ability to supply products in loose and bagged formats to suit all market sectors.
This ethos is demonstrated by our commitment to a continual investment program; today this includes producing our own renewable energy and running a fleet of some of the most efficient vehicles available in order to offset our environmental impact.
The Role
You will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance, inspection and repair of our growing HGV fleet, joining a successful and well-established company and working alongside our team of mechanics.
You will have:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience or qualification in motor mechanics such as City & Guilds Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or a BTEC National Certificate in Vehicle Repair and Technology
- Excellent knowledge about motor technology and a strong background in HGV vehicle servicing
- Good communication skills, ability to concentrate when under pressure
- Good manual dexterity, methodical and organised and able to work to strict deadlines
- Be able to work alone and follow instructions
- Must have own transport and full UK driving licence
Performing the following tasks:
- Inspect vehicles to MOT standard
- Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
- Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
- Complete all paperwork as necessary
- Ensure all aspects of H&S working practices are adhered to
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
