We are looking to strengthen our team and appoint a Health & Safety Advisor.
The Role:
The role will be based at our manufacturing site in Oldham and will be responsible for assisting the Senior Quality Manager to provide expert guidance and support to managers and staff to ensure that the Company meets its statutory legislative requirements for occupational Health and Safety, Fire and Environmental.
The role holder will be required to have the necessary specialist knowledge, significant experience and skills to meet the requirements of this position.

Role and Responsibilities:
- To support the organisation to meet compliance against the relevant Health and Safety related standards within the Company and legislative requirements
- Support the Senior Quality Manager in ensuring the delivery of Health and Safety systems and processes in line with statutory responsibilities and to ensure continued maintenance of existing and future accreditations
- To proactively contribute to safety initiatives within the Company including identifying areas for improvement and good practice
- Incident investigation reports and implement appropriate corrective actions to both prevent recurrence and encourage continuous improvement
- Carry out proactive and reactive Health and Safety assessments on a regular basis and when required, ensuring action is implemented leading to change
- Use outcomes of audits to advise on the development and implementation of safe systems of work
- Delivery of appropriate training including toolbox talks and inductions
- Engagement and communication with the appropriate authorities and regulators where required
- You will be expected to work at our other site at in Sheffield on some occasions
Skills and Experience Required:
- Health and Safety qualifications e.g., IOSH / NEBOSH certificate in specialist field
- Thorough understanding of applicable Health and Safety legislation, regulation and guidance to ensure continued compliance with our legal and statutory responsibilities
- Management and development of HSE systems and accreditations
- Engagement and communication with the appropriate authorities and regulators where required
- Experience of all elements of occupational Health and Safety processes including risk assessments, COSHH, fire safety, accident prevention, competences and qualifications, RIDDOR, etc
- Experience of carrying out inspections, audits and investigations
- Experience within an Engineering or manufacturing environment
