Heatherdene is a privately-run nursing care home in Bexhill looking for someone with a genuine interest in working within a caring environment to become our Healthcare Assistant for the day shift.
The Role:
This outlines the main duties of the post. It is not intended as an exhaustive list. Our company values are an integral part of life at our home and will help you to:
- Support service users with their daily routines and care needs, helping them with any (mobility) aids, their personal hygiene, appearance and rooms
- Be passionate about providing quality care and spending quality time with residents, creating a warm atmosphere to promote independence and activity
- Pay attention to the service users’ surroundings, including answering call bells, keeping areas clean and tidy and showing respect for their possessions
- Dedicate yourself to professional development by participating in training, ensuring you adhere to policies regarding personal appearance and uniform
- Show empathy towards service users that are ill or at end of life, as well as to their relatives, visitors when answering the door or telephone and to colleagues
Essentials:
- NVQ 2 achieved or working towards
- Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, be a team player, have a willingness to participate in vocational training programmes and have a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check and Adult First.
- To work with the scope of the Data Protection Act 1998 and adherence to all Data Protection Legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
- To work at all times within the guidelines of the Health & Safety At Work Act 1974, Employee Handbook, Company Policy and Procedure for Infection Control and Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedure, to be aware of all fire exit means of escape from the Home.
Please note: Full vaccination is required to work in the homes as per the Health & Social Act.
