About the role
As Head of Service you will lead, manage and develop Walsall’s recently formed Corporate Landlord services, providing strong, inspirational leadership and direction for staff, facilitating a one-team culture across the organisation. You will also embed the council’s recently approved Strategic Asset Plan to support the maximisation of the use of corporate estate, rationalisation of assets, repurposing of assets for better use against the council outcomes and ensuring the assets we utilise are fit for purpose and embrace our presence with a purpose ethos. You will develop effective working relationships with both internal and external partners.
You will be responsible for ensuring property assets are maintained and managed in accordance with corporate strategic priorities, standards, and relevant property health & safety legislation. The postholder will also be responsible for the commissioning and technical project management of major capital property/asset schemes and delivery of value for money and high-quality facilities management services.
