Job Title: Head of Marketing & Communications

Location: Perry Green, Hertfordshire

Salary: £41,000 to £48,000 depending on experience

The Foundation was established by one of the greatest sculptors of the twentieth century. Today it is the largest artist-endowed grant-giving foundation in Europe and operates across two venues in the UK. The Foundation is headquartered in Hertfordshire where visitors can appreciate the artist’s former home, studios and see his monumental bronzes in the landscape as he desired. They also have an Institute in Leeds, which is one of the world’s leading centres for the study of sculpture, offering a programme of exhibitions and complementary research and engagement activities that animate the programme.

The Role

They want to inspire and inform audiences of all ages and backgrounds, whether they have an interest in the arts, are studying sculpture or visiting with their family for a day out. The Foundation aims to grow the visitor numbers at both venues; to extend their reach to worldwide audiences through international touring of the collection and their online resources; to enhance the position of the artist as a pre-eminent British artist; and to attract the best possible applicants to their grants programme. They’re looking for a Head of Marketing & Communications to join the senior management team to develop and deliver the strategic marketing/comms vision to help them achieve these bold ambitions.

The Head of Marketing & Communications leads the development and delivery of the Foundation’s strategic marketing and communications plan across two venues in the UK. Serving as a member of the strategic management team, the post-holder is responsible for raising awareness of the Foundation, maintaining and enhancing its position within the national and international arts and academic sectors, and building relationships to attract and grow a diverse range of audiences.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a graduate or equivalent with a passion for arts marketing and audience development; and a track record in setting and meeting ambitious targets. With extensive experience in leading multi-dimensional campaigns within the cultural sector, you will have an in depth understanding of arts media and PR as well as excellent knowledge of the full range of digital marketing channels and the key principles of branding. Combining excellent project management with the ability to enthuse and inspire others, you will have a demonstrable track record in the formulation, leading and monitoring of strategic plans that engage broad and diverse audiences.
