One of the country’s largest motor trade organisations, Hippo Motor Group, is currently recruiting for a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to work closely with the CFO, senior leadership team and wider business. The role
The successful candidate will be tasked with building the planning, forecasting and analysis capability across the wider business and improving the quality or reporting and analysis, and making recommendations across the business. There is the opportunity to join and play a part in the midst of an exciting strategic transformation! As our Head of FP&A, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting the management team to deliver exceptional results. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact and drive positive change in a dynamic and innovative environment.
More excitingly, the Head of FP&A will work with subject matter experts on complex and challenging pieces of analysis across the business. This role is ideal for a candidate looking to demonstrate their skills in a fast-growing business. In a team of over 330 colleagues, you will be the expert and authority on your specialism and as such will be involved in both high-level strategy and hands-on implementation. Working closely with the Owner(and CEO) and the CFO, this is a significant hire for the Group and will be a highly visible role, the candidate will be expected to drive profitability improvement and have a commercial influence across the Group.
This role is full time in our Blackburn Head Office with the option of working one day a week from home.
What we need you to do:
- Lead the annual budget process, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness for all stakeholders.
- Drive quarterly reforecasts to reflect in-year changes and assess full-year profit expectations monthly, supporting action plans as needed. Deliver monthly management information to key management teams and the Board Report.
- Conduct monthly performance reviews, engaging with financial and operational stakeholders to address any performance issues.
- Champion a step-change in the quality of our planning, reporting, and performance management activities
- Analysing financial and operational results to better understand company performance
- Support and help develop company strategy
- Business partner to key execs to help them deliver their objectives in the most financially optimum way
- Develop business cases to assess new opportunities
- Financial modelling – development of financial models to assist strategic decision making
- Data analysis: Running data analysis to provide insight into financial and operational performance, implementing KPI’s and targets for the various departments;
- Take a leading role in projects across the business providing both insight and recommendations based on analysis. This will involve collaborating with subject matter experts from across the business at all levels of seniority.

- A professional accountancy qualification is strongly preferred
