Job Title: Head of FEHE

The Role:
ETC is an International College providing courses to students from all over the world.
We are looking for a motivated Head of FEHE (Further Education and Higher Education) to oversee our friendly and enthusiastic team of teachers and to manage and progress our University Preparation and BTEC HND programmes in Business, Computing and Engineering subjects.
Our BTEC courses are accredited by Pearson and are equivalent to levels 4 and 5 of the RQF. Experience in running or delivering BTEC HND programmes is essential.
Candidate Profile (essential):
- Good IT skills and the ability to learn in-house database systems quickly.
- Exceptional customer service, communication and organisational skills
- Must be highly motivated and able to work well within a team and under pressure.
- Must have a high level of written and spoken English.
- Motivation to develop systems and courses in accordance with our students’ needs.
- At least 5 years in the further or higher education industry; either in teaching or management.
Desirable, but not essential:
- Experience working with international clients.
- At least 2 years working in further or higher education management.
Main responsibilities:
- To manage and oversee the effective running of the FEHE department.
- Act as Quality Nominee / Head of Centre for accrediting bodies, such as Pearson BTEC and ATHE.
- To act as Nominated Accountable Officer for the OfS.
- To write and regularly review course programmes based on market and student needs.
- Write and implement FEHE course review and action plan within the College’s strategy.
- To teach in place of other members of the teaching team in the event of their absence / incapacity to teach.
- To oversee student discipline; attendance warning, tutorials, progress, complaints and appeals meetings and work out courses of action to suit student’s needs.
- To ensure that all matters are handled in line with best practice and with due regards to health and safety, safeguarding and child protection regulations.
- To oversee the recruitment and induction of new staff in the FEHE department.
- Manage accreditation inspection actions and standards and prepare documentation as required by governing bodies, such as the British Council, ISI, English UK, OfS, QAA and BTEC.
- To internally verify and assess all appropriate components of relevant BTEC programmes as BTEC Lead Internal Verifier and BTEC Assessor.
