The Role:
Zedify has some great financial backers and is going through a period of significant growth. We’re looking for a dynamic and ambitious Head of Engineering to join a fast-growing scale-up and contribute to all aspects of our business.
You will be a seasoned engineer and technologist, and will have the leadership skills to continue to build, mentor and inspire the team through the next stage of our scale-up journey. You will have prior experience as at least Head of Engineering at a start-up, or led teams in a larger company with experience of growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be accountable for creating deliverable timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services
- An exceptional leader with proven examples of hiring, managing, coaching & growing individuals across the Engineering organisation
- Setting a vision, strategy and roadmap for the use of technology at Zedify, working as required with the CTO and Head of Product to incorporate the Product Roadmap
- Creation and implementation of engineering practices and processes for engineering efficiency
- Develop and monitor the Engineering OKRs and budgets to assess technological performance
- Identify competitive advantages and technological trends that are driven by data which benefit the company
- Understand GDPR requirements, interfacing with 3rd party providers to own IT compliance requirements
- Produce and present the engineering vision and performance to the CEO, exec team, wider business and board of directors
About you:
- Confidence with our languages: Java, GCP and hands-on SaaS experience

- Growth mindset: We are still working on ways to make our systems, processes, and software better. You are a person who can lead by example, influence and encourage others to follow
- 8 years+ working in a technological role and 5 years managerial experience building, developing and coaching tech businesses
- A degree, preferably at Masters’ level, in Computer Science or a related field
- It is advantageous that you are tuned into advances in, and applications of, AI which could be transformative for the business
- Experience in logistics sector would be desirable
