You will be an outstanding musician and teacher with a lively, creative approach to music education. The ability to teach A Level is essential and due to the nature of the role in a busy boarding school you will need plenty of energy and a flexible approach to working hours.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- To lead the academic musical life of the Department, maintaining and developing the Department’s academic music profile.
- To oversee all aspects of the music curriculum in line with the departmental and schools aims for music.
- To share in the teaching of music across the Department to include GCSE and A Level.
- To liaise regularly with the Assistant of Director who leads and teaches the UIV, GCSE and A-Level composition components.
- To proactively develop musical opportunities and to raise the profile of academic music across the school through innovation and interest.
The Successful Candidate will be:
- Be a good Music honours graduate and/or have ETC.
- Hold a Postgraduate qualification in Music or a related subject (desirable).
- Have the ability to teach Music from KS3 through to A level.
- Inspirational and innovative teaching style/capability.
- Ability to write schemes of work and excellent knowledge of appropriate music software.
- Ability to lead the training and development of academic staff in the department.
- Excellent knowledge of external opportunities to stretch and challenge.
- Excellent monitoring skills.
- Have the ability to teach highly able, well-motivated pupils.
- Enjoy the company of young people and be prepared to fully immerse yourself in the life of the School.
- Be efficient, with good organisational, IT and administrative skills.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff in an appropriate way.
