Job Title: Group Buyer
Location: Poole
Salary: £29,500 to £33,500 per annum depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday – Friday)
The Company are a specialist in natural and smoke ventilation systems and have been manufacturing, supplying, installing and commissioning ventilation systems for over 25 years for a variety of projects of all shapes and sizes.
They have a wealth of experience installing and commissioning ventilation systems in industrial, commercial and residential buildings.
Job Role:
They are seeking an experienced purchaser to work at their offices in Poole. The ideal candidate will ideally be CIPS qualified and have at least 3 years’ experience of working in a busy procurement department. You will oversee both a ‘Trainee Buyer’ and ‘Administrator’ to facilitate all duties.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Order Placement, Supply / Demand Alignment, Material Replenishment
- Ensuring that monthly KPI’s are produced and issued on time
- Sourcing the most affordable materials for the company’s manufacturing process
- Monitoring delivery times to ensure that they are on time / Supplier KPI analysis
- Negotiating day-to-day pricing to ensure that the best possible price is received
- Delivering cost savings for the company on delivery, payment terms, re-stocking fees etc.
- Continuously monitoring, evaluating and improving supplier performance
- Completing and overseeing the coding & matching of supplier invoices
- Resolving disputes and claims with suppliers
- Overseeing the procurement of overhead items such as stationary, refreshments and tools by other personnel
- Assist in developing the purchasing departments team and ensure that the purchasing team has ‘cover’ at all times
- Responsible for processing and overseeing the manual (non-Sage) purchase orders that purchasing produce. Seeking approval to purchase prior to placing any orders
- Creation of new stock codes in line with set procedures
- Other associated ad hoc duties as required

Experience
- Purchasing experience, ideally within either an Electronics or Engineering Company
- Commercial awareness
- The ability to understand technical data
- A good understanding of Stock Control is essential – Kitting, BOM, Nominal coding etc.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
- Sage 200 experience would be advantageous, although full training will be provided (Desirable)
