Job Title: Graduate Building Surveyor
Location: Chessington
Salary: £28-34,000 per annum
Job type: Permanent. Full-time. 37.5 hours over 5 days per week

Candidates selected for interview would need to demonstrate that they comply with the following person specification:
Essential requirements:
- A degree in Building Surveying from a university recognised by the RICS
- Hold a valid driving license and have access to a car and be willing to use it for site visits subject to the payment of expenses.
- Live within a local commutable distance of up 5 miles / 45 minutes.
- Good level of basic technical knowledge and ability to use in practice
- Display knowledge and appreciation of building construction and be able to draw detailed clear and tidy hand sketches for the purposes of identifying current and proposed construction.
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks
Further attributes we would like you to have:
- Recent post-graduate experience in a similar role (up to 18 months’ experience)
- Recent experience of managing small projects
- MCIOB qualified
Responsibilities and Duties:
As Graduate Building Surveyor, you will assist the surveying team with the design and management of key projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage minor projects under supervision of Building Surveyor or senior member of staff
- Undertake measured surveys and plot existing and proposed plans
- Prepare tender documents, working drawings, specifications, H&S risk assessments and schedules of work under supervision
- Evaluate tenders and assist in production of tender reports
- Co-ordinate design information with other consultants and other members of staff
- Prepare and submit planning applications and other submissions for statutory consents under supervision
- Assist Building Surveyors and senior members of staff with contract management of projects and on site
- Attend site and client meetings and produce minutes
