Job Title: Governance Coordinator (part time – 0.6)

Location: Llanishen, Cardiff

Salary: £23,000- £25,000 pro rata

Job Type: Permanent/Part-time

The role:

Carry out administrative work in the following areas:

  1. Agored Cymru Governance
  • Ensure all Governance documents are prepared, circulated and stored in line with governance protocols and circulated to Board and Committee members within agreed deadlines
  • Liaise with Agored Cymru Board and Committee members in relation to attendance, expenses, agendas and supporting paperwork.
  • Update records on quoracy – prior to and following each Governance meeting
  • Support the process of identification and recruitment of new Board and Committee members.
  • Support the lead officers in ensuring that all paperwork is updated in accordance with
  • Governance protocols.
  • Attend Governance meetings and prepare a first draft of minutes.
  • Ensure that records related to centre agreements and membership applications are updated and reports on recognised centres and membership applications/terminations are prepared for Board meetings.
  1. PA support to the Chief Executive Officer and Deputy CEO
  • Take a proactive approach to co-ordinating the external meetings’ schedule for the CEO and
  • DCEO to ensure an efficient and effective service is provided to customers and stakeholders
  • Ensure paperwork is prepared prior to, and following SMT meetings, liaising with other AC staff as appropriate.
  • Attend internal meetings to take notes as required
  • Draft correspondence for the CEO and DCEO as required

The Candidate:

Essential:

  • GCSE Maths (or equivalent)
  • Full commitment to living the values and behaviours of
  • Agored Cymru
  • Commitment to meeting the needs of learners in Wales
  • Commitment to the promotion of bilingualism and use of the Welsh language
  • Able to establish constructive and effective working relationships
  • Organised and customer focused
  • Willingness to travel across Wales including some overnight stays

Desirable:

  • Good written and oral communication skills in Welsh
  • Understanding of governance structures and roles and responsibilities
  • Experience of working in an organisation subject to external regulatory requirements
  • Experience of proofreading documents
  • Level 3 in Business and Administration (or equivalent)
