Job Title: General Labourer

Long & Marshall is a well-established and reputable precision engineering company and are looking for a General Labourer/Machine Operative to work at our premises in Havant, Hampshire. With our extensive range of 4 and 5 axis milling capabilities, we have invested in the best equipment to deliver the highest-quality machined components to customers’ specification. We specialise in the manufacture of complex and fine-tolerance parts for a wide selection of customers.
About the role:
- Directly report to the Production Manager they will be responsible for the following duties:
- Floor maintenance (sweeping and mopping).
- Cleaning of machinery.
- Monitoring machine coolant and oil.
- General factory maintenance.
- Van driving and van cleaning.
- Monitor toilets for soap and paper (daily).
- Emptying Swarf & Dust bins and ensuring the rear car areas is maintained clean & tidy as & when required.
- Ensuring that ‘external’ lower-level panels (inclusive of windows) of the building are cleaned as required (seasonal).
- Keeping tearoom stocked.
- Weekly check of sprinkler pressure testing (training provided).
- Mechanical assembly work (training provided).
Note:
There may be additional duties from other managers / departments as & when required’ which will be expressed by the Production Manager.

Shifts:
- Day shift: 7:30am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-12:30pm Friday (paid at basic rate)
- Overtime rate: Any hours worked on Mondays to Saturdays (inclusive) in addition to your
normal weekly hours of 39 hours, will be paid at time and a half. - Any hours worked on a Sunday additional to your normal weekly hours of 39 hours will be paid at double time.
